3.3 Finger Flexion Calibration Using the Menu Button

On the Commercial Edition, finger flexion calibration is triggered with the Menu button. Whether to double-click or press and hold depends on the glove version used for the current project.

Before You Begin

  • The gloves are automatically connected and producing data.
  • The gloves fit securely, and the orientation, gap, and position of the TMR and N52 components have been checked.
  • You have the Menu button trigger instructions provided for the current project.

Calibration Procedure

  1. Extend both hands naturally and keep your fingers relaxed.
  2. Double-click or press and hold the Menu button as specified in the project instructions to begin data collection.
  3. Perform the required finger extension, flexion, or fist-clenching movements without applying excessive force.
  4. When finished, extend and flex each finger individually, then make a natural fist.
  5. Check that the data is continuous and that the left and right hands and all fingers are mapped correctly.

If Calibration Fails

Recheck the glove fit and the TMR/N52 positions, then repeat the calibration only once. If the issue persists, save the affected finger information, movement data, and project version. Do not attempt to pair the devices or flash the firmware.

Next Step

After calibration is complete, proceed to 3.4 Degrees of Freedom, Haptic Feedback, and Button Acceptance Testing.
