5.2 Frequently Asked Questions (Q&A)
The following questions were compiled from the “Other Issues” section of the previous manual and rewritten for HiggloveNg Beta 1.0.6, TMR sensors, and the current LED states. Instructions involving obsolete interfaces, unsafe disassembly, or unverified driver operations have not been retained.
How do I disable avatar gestures in VRChat?
Make sure no gesture was triggered with Shift + F1–F8. Press R to open the Action Menu, go to Options > Avatar, move the cursor to Gestures, and click to disable it. Avatar gestures and gesture-linked animations will remain in their default state while this option is disabled and will resume when it is enabled again.
How do I disable gesture-controlled locomotion?
If accidental touches cause the avatar to move or turn, disable the corresponding gesture-based locomotion input in the current VRChat controller binding. Save the original binding before making changes. A detailed tutorial video will be added to this page.
How do I use a VRChat Workshop binding?
In SteamVR controller bindings, select a VRChat Workshop binding intended for your current HIG Glove configuration. After applying it, check the trigger, grip, A/B buttons, joystick, and Menu button one at a time. Bindings may change between versions, so save the current binding before use.
What should I do if HiggloveNg crashes, freezes, or stops responding?
Close HiggloveNg, SteamVR, and the related VR applications, then restart HiggloveNg. If the problem persists, record the Windows version, software version, steps that caused the issue, and screenshots of the error, then contact Support. Do not flash firmware as a substitute for software troubleshooting.
What should I do if the SteamVR icon does not light up?
Confirm that SteamVR is running normally and that the headset and position-tracking device are available. Then return to 4.1 to check the tracking source, and use 4.2 to recheck the SteamVR status and launch button.
What should I do if the glove or receiver icon does not light up?
Reconnect the receiver and try another USB port. A blue power LED means the glove is not connected; follow the 3.2 pairing tutorial. Green, yellow, or red means the glove is connected, and the color also indicates the battery level.
What should I do if the virtual hands do not move in SteamVR?
First check whether the data for all five fingers changes in HiggloveNg. If the finger data changes but the hand position does not, check the position-tracking device in 4.1. If the finger data also does not change, return to 2.4 to check the TMR/N52 positions, then complete the calibration in 3.3.
What should I do if pressing Menu takes a Steam screenshot?
This can result from the current SteamVR button binding. Open the active controller binding, check the action assigned to Menu, and change it as required by the game. Save the original binding first to avoid affecting other games.
What should I do if the Tracker position is incorrect or unavailable?
Make sure the device actually tracking the glove matches the option selected in the software; do not choose based only on the headset name. When using a Quest and Tracker together, select the corresponding Tracker and repeat the Space Calibrator calibration.
What should I do if I cannot find the Tuning preset?
First confirm that you are using HiggloveNg Beta 1.0.6 and a configuration that matches the current product. Do not import old presets from unknown sources. Save the version, a screenshot of the page, and the product information, then contact HIGVR for the currently applicable configuration.
If the Issue Persists
Send the Windows, HiggloveNg, and SteamVR versions; the complete VR device combination; left- and right-hand status; reproduction steps; and redacted screenshots or videos to service@higvr.com.
