5.2 SteamVR 2.11 rollback process

The Virtual Desktop path may require SteamVR 2.11. This process will change the local SteamVR folder. Back up and exit SteamVR before starting.

Before operation

  • Confirm that the current project indeed requires SteamVR 2.11.
  • Backup current SteamVR folder name and location.
  • Close SteamVR and Steam; contact support first if you are unfamiliar with folder renaming and unzipping.

Unzip to Steam directory

Use decompression software to open the compressed package, set the address copied in step 5 as the decompression directory, check and confirm.

Return to the directory where the SteamVR folder is located and confirm that the 2.11 folder has been correctly decompressed.

Do not start SteamVR directly; right-click SteamVR and open properties to avoid immediate automatic updates.

Launch and review version

After completion, start SteamVR and confirm that version 2.11 is displayed and running; if the version does not match, stop subsequent operations and check the directory.
